Azroy Hakeem to wildcard in WorldSSP at Aragón

Joining permanent entries Kaito Toba and Khairul Idham Pawi in the garage this weekend, Azroy Hakeem will make his WorldSSP debut with the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team.

Born on 17 October 1999 in Selangor, Malaysia, Hakeem has amassed more than a decade’s worth of experience with Honda machinery. He secured the 2019 MSBK600 title, placing fourth in the SSP600 category of the ARRC that same year, before going on to be crowned CP150 Malaysian Cub Prix champion in 2021. Since then, he has continued to successfully compete in the Supersport class of the Asia Road Racing Championship. The Malaysian has already collected several race wins during the 2024 season, and currently lies third in that championship with one round still to run.

A wildcard in the 2022 and 2023 Malaysian Moto2 rounds with Petronas Motorsports, 24-year-old Azroy will now make his World Supersport debut during round ten of the Superbike World Championship, taking place on 27-29 September at Motorland Aragón. Eager to gain experience in a brand-new racing series, the talented rider will go all out to showcase his talents on Spanish soil as he takes the next step in developing his blossoming career.

 Azroy Hakeem

“I want to say thanks to the Boon Siew Honda Team, the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team and everyone who has made it possible for this wildcard to happen. This is a big opportunity for me and of course I will do my best to showcase my abilities during the upcoming WorldSSP round at Motorland Aragón.”
