PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda checks in to the Czech Republic
The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team is gearing up for action at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, the stage for this weekend’s fifth Superbike World Championship round.

PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda riders Tarran Mackenzie and Zaqhwan Zaidi worked hard during the latest Italian round and would like to continue in a similar vein on Czech soil. Although the race results fell short of expectations, both riders made progress over the weekend and left Cremona Circuit with positives that they hope to carry into round five.
In terms of previous form at Autodrom Most, Mackenzie was already competing in WorldSBK last season but missed the Czech round due to injury. His most recent experience of the track dates back to 2023, when he won the Supersport race in spectacular style. The Brit understandably has wonderful memories of that weekend, and will be looking to do well at the Czech track now that he is riding the CBR1000RR-R.
Zaidi on the other hand has never seen the Most track and will need to work hard and fast on Friday, just as he has had to do every weekend so far, to familiarise himself with the layout. The Malaysian rookie knows that the practice sessions are key and need to be fully exploited if he wants to be ready for the weekend’s three challenging races.
Autodrom Most is located in the north-west of the Czech Republic, not far from the German border. WorldSBK first visited the track in 2021, but the circuit actually dates back to 1983 when it became the first permanent motor racing complex in what was then Czechoslovakia. Measuring 4.212 km in length, the track incorporates 21 very varied turns.
Tarran Mackenzie #95
“I’m really excited for Most. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to ride there last year because of injury, so my only experience of the track was in Supersport in 2023. I have good memories of that weekend as it was my first ever victory! Cremona was a struggle, but I think there were positive points we can carry into this weekend. We perhaps have a new plan in terms of the direction to take, so Friday should be interesting. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Zaqhwan Zaidi #21
“I’m looking forward to the Most round and will do my best to enjoy my first experience of the track. The plan will be to continue as we did at Cremona, focusing right from Friday and learning as much as possible as quickly as possible. Hopefully I can score better results this time out.”
