Toba and Azman prepare for WorldSSP battle at Misano

Italy’s Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” in the region of Emilia Romagna is next up for the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team, as the squad gears up for round six of the 2025 Supersport World Championship with riders Kaito Toba and Syarifuddin Azman.

Almost one month since the Czech round at Autodrom Most, Toba and Azman are more than ready to get back on track with their CBR600RR bikes. Although the latest round did not bring the desired results, this only motivates the riders to do more this coming weekend. Both the Japanese and the Malaysian have experience of the Italian circuit, Toba having lined up for last year’s WorldSSP event and Azman having taken on Misano in 2023, while competing in Moto3. Aware that conditions are likely to be hot for these next races, both riders feel confident about their physical preparation and condition heading into this sixth round.

Known as the Misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli" since 2011, the facility was inaugurated in the 1970s and has regularly hosted both MotoGP and WorldSBK. The production-derived series has been staged at the circuit since 1991, with the racing often taking place in the summertime. Located on the Adriatic coast in the region of Emilia Romagna, the racetrack currently measures 4.226 km and incorporates ten right-hand corners and six left-handers.

Kaito Toba #27

“This week we’re traveling to Misano. It’s a circuit where I’ve raced multiple times and it’s always nice to be back there. We have a lot of work to do for this weekend and will also need to catch up as fast as possible with the teams that were testing at the track recently. We’ll see how things go and continue to do our best.”

Syarifuddin Azman #63

“I’m excited to start the race weekend. I’ve been training hard at home in Malaysia and have also competed in the Asian championship. Now I’m looking forward to a WorldSBK round at a track I know well, a factor that will hopefully help me to achieve better results than I have at recent rounds. I’m keen to start the weekend and am confident we can do well.”
