Toba, Azman and wildcard Norrodin ready to attack Aragón
PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda returns to Spain for WorldSSP round 10

Fielding Kaito Toba, Syarifuddin Azman and wildcard Ibrahim Norrodin, the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team will compete in the upcoming tenth round of the Supersport World Championship at Motorland Aragón in Spain. Permanent entries Toba and Azman will again be joined by Norrodin, who has another opportunity to compete on the WorldSSP stage following his recent wildcard appearance at Magny-Cours.
The latest French WorldSSP round was unfortunately not an easy one for the three riders, with each of them suffering setbacks over the course of the weekend. Left wanting, the trio will be out for more on Spanish soil and are feeling highly motivated heading into this tenth championship round.
The first challenge for Azman will be to uncover the secrets of the Motorland Aragón track, a new one for the Malaysian rider, while Toba and Norrodin hope to harness their previous experience at the track and hit the ground running on Friday.
WorldSBK first visited Motorland Aragón in 2011, with the facility having opened just two years prior. Designed by renowned architect Hermann Tilke, the circuit is located close to Alcañiz, in Spain’s autonomous community of Aragón. In its current configuration, the track measures 5.077 kilometres and comprises seven right turns and ten left turns. It was fully resurfaced in 2024.
Kaito Toba #27
“I’m hoping for a smoother weekend at Aragón, so that we can overcome the challenges we faced at Magny-Cours. We haven’t done any testing at this track this year, so it’ll be important to keep things simple from the start and work on our pace right from the beginning of the weekend. Let’s see how things turn out; as ever, I’ll do my best to show my speed on track.”
Syarifuddin Azman #63
“If I can learn the track quickly on Friday then I am quietly confident we can have a good weekend. The main goal will be to improve on our results in France, which was quite a difficult round for various reasons. Let’s see what we can do.”
Ibrahim Norrodin #67
“I’ve ridden at Aragón before and had a good round, standing in for my brother during the 2023 WorldSSP weekend. I was pleased with the results back then, so let’s see if I can repeat, or improve upon that performance this weekend. I’m looking forward to it, and I again want to thank the team for allowing me to compete with them in WorldSSP.”
